The Flow-Wing is the further development of the proven Cross-Wing.

Over a period of 14 months, we developed more than 40 versions and produced 30 prototypes using a 3D printer for testing and optimization.

The devil is in the details. To guarantee the most comfortable grip position for every hand position, the handlebar consists of 20 different profiles per side.

Resistance reduction due to the top tube:

According to a resistance measurement by TOUR magazine, the gain with an aero handlebar can be up to 20 watts. The reason is that a round tube has significantly higher resistance than a flattened (teardrop-shaped) tube (corresponding to a 90% reduction in resistance).

The air resistance of a round tube on the top of the handlebars is 13 watts at 45 km/h. The flattened top tube of the Flow-Wing handlebars has less than one watt of resistance! That's a reduction in air resistance of approximately 12 watts.

Additionally, cable channels in the handlebars allow for aerodynamically advantageous routing of brake and shift cables.

Resistance reduction due to the reduced width of the brake levers:

A completely new and at the same time very aerodynamic posture results from holding onto the inwardly angled brake lever humps and resting the forearms on the top of the handlebars.

Essentially, this is a similar riding position to that used with aero bars. The flat tops of the handlebars make it comfortable and offer the advantage of very quick access to the brakes. Aero tests have shown a significant reduction in power output of approximately 23 watts at 40 km/h with this setup compared to a 40cm wide handlebar.
